Matt Welcome

Matt Welcome started life as a fertilised egg in his mother’s womb. He was born in a one way cul-de-sac a stone’s throw away from the wrong side of the tracks on the edge of the outskirts of a one horse town with no name

More recently Matt took a bit of time off from the comedy circuit to ‘find himself’ and the ‘catch up on his reminiscing’, “I thought I saw myself in Brent Cross shoping centre once but I wasn’t sure so I just kept walking, funny really after 3 years of searching for myself it turned out I’d been sitting in front of the telly drinking beer the whole time, I guess people are just like keys, always in the last place you look”

"Probably one of the most talented comedians on today's comedy circuit"- Woman Magazine

Matt's act started with what looked like it might be a card trick, even going so far as asking audience members to verify that it was, in fact, a real pack of cards.

As he finally threw the cards on the floor with very little comedy value, I wondered if it was simply a time-filler to mask a weak set!

However, how wrong I was – Matt quickly launched into a fast paced set of fantastic comedy observations and sarcastic ramblings.

His whole set was excellently crafted and he never stepped a foot wrong, delivering every line perfectly in what was undoubtedly a well-rehearsed act.

Matt in control

Suave and sarcastic, his ability to play with the simplest of phrases and have you thinking why you'd never thought of it, make him one of the UK's cleverest and slickest comedians. "Brutally cool humour"
What's On Magazine.

Matt's experience shines through his set like a floodlight, giving him a charismatic and confident air unmatched by almost any other stand-up working the circuit.
His material is seemingly conversational, but the gags are all tucked away in there, jumping out at you with a sure steady pace.
Sharp sarcasm and acute observations shape the style of his set, but all manner of comedic verbal misdirection is present. By Ira Rainey (BBC Bristol)
